Library Usage

Patrons must
present identification when checking out any library materials.
Identification is library card, driver’s license, or a current
picture id.

Any library
material(s) that is overdue will have a specific charge.

A charge of $.25
will be charged for each book each day that is overdue.

A charge of $1.00
will be charged for each video and/or recorded book each day
that the material is overdue.

Notices of overdue
materials and/or fines will be handled as follows:

After three (3)
weeks of material being checked out the patron will receive their
first notice, which does not include any fines for
those materials.

After four (4) weeks
of a material being checked out the patron will receive their second
notice, which will include any fines that have accumulated.

After six (6) weeks
of materials being checked out the patron will receive their third
notice that will include the price of the material and
the total amount of the fines that have accumulated
-
Replacement
books are not permitted.

A patron may request
holds for library materials, there is a limit of 5 holds per person
and the materials must be picked-up within 2 weeks. Patrons will be
notified by mail when a material they requested returns to the
library. New releases will not be held.

If your library
is lost or damaged there is a charge of $1.00 (one dollar) to
replace the card. Please bring identification when reapplying.

To apply for a library card please
come into the library and bring a valid photo id.

Computer Usage

Patron must sign in and sign out when using computers at the front
desk.

All Copies made from
the computers will print out at the front desk and there is a charge
of 10¢ per page.

Time Limit of one
(1) hour for computer usage.

Use of the Internet
Stations is on a first come first serve basis. Users are required to
sign in at the circulation desk. Users must have a valid library/
computer card on file and must present the card to use the
computers. Internet computer usage is allowed for patrons 18 years
of age and older.

Computing resources
may only be used for legal purposes by the public and staff.
Examples of unacceptable purposes include, but are not limited to
the following: - Harassment of other users; Libeling or slandering
other users; Destruction of or damage of property, equipment, data,
or software belongs to BCPL.

Use of Library
Internet Access stations to display or disseminate sexually explicit
or sexual suggestive (obscene/ pornographic) material in any Library
building is prohibited. Violators of this policy will be removed
from the Library building and will have their library privileges
revoked.

The BCPL cannot
censure material nor protect users from offensive information.
Parents of minor children (under age 18) must be responsible for
their children’s use of Internet through the BCPL connection.
Parents must remain at the station for the entire period of use.

Information Highway, reprinted and distributed with permission from
the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The BCPL assumes no responsibility for any damages, direct or indirect, arising from the
use of its www Server or from its connections to other Internet
services.
